PS Panda had diarrhea yesterday. Do you think its because he is eating too much timothy hay? Lately the only thing he will eat is fruit, veggies and timothy. He wont touch his Gerty Guinea pig The diarrhea maybe due to the antibiotic, this is due to the antibiotic destroying the good bacteria in his gut causing an imbalance. This can be helped by giving him a pro biotic. Also if he is eating a lot more fresh food this may cause loose stools. ( I do not think the timothy hay will be causing this) Check with your vet about this. The selective feeding, may again indicate something going on with his teeth. Kaolin suspension helps with diarrhea 0.1ml/kg up to 3 x daily. This normally gets results in a very short time

Well he's back been back to normal. Until yesterday when he started whining again. He may have another bladder stone! I dont know what I'm going to do. If he has another stone its either put him down or more surgery. This time I don't know what to do. I really don't wanna put him down but I think I might have to. If he even has a stone again. But by the way he's acting I'm getting nerves

Crap..........
He has blood in his urine now. Mom identified it as Cystitis. We are giving him the left over antibiotics from when he had the bladder stone. Pandas 5 years old. No use in doing surgery or anything on him.
Panda also sounds congested when he squeaks. I don't think any of his food or anything caused this. Mom believes its just a thing that sometimes happens. It stinks to see my little buddy so sick. Poor guy

Sorry to hear Panda's poorly again. He seems a lovely old guy
There's a couple of other things to try: Cranberry Juice Potassium Citrate mixture from the chemist/pharmasist
For any congestion in his chest it may be worth trying a decongestant such as Pseudoephedrine (in the UK this is in a product called Sudafed)

Well, we have been giving him Beytril (sp?) and the blood went away. But now he wont eat, he's skinny, he hasn't pooped since Friday, he has crusty eyes, and he stopped squeaking. Mom just called the animal hospital and they are going to call us back. We are probably going to euthanize him tonight. I'm crying right now. He was my little buddy. He was a fine healthy guinapig. But then he got bladder stone and had to have surgery. Ever since the surgery, he hasn't been the same. I feel horrible right now. But at least he is going to a better place

No. Panda is my last pig
I just got back from the animal hospital. They took us to the back room and put him on a table. While the vet got out the supplies, I hugged and kissed Panda. He kept licking my hand. Then the vet put the gas mask on his nose. Then I just went to the back of the room and started pacing (crying the whole time). Every now and then I'd walk by and catch a glimpse of Panda. Then I looked and saw him rolled over with the vet listening to his heart. Then I just stopped looking, until mom came into the room with a box. We went straight home and buried him in the backyard. I kept his Christmas hat and his bowl.
