Im a bit older these days and the memmory just isnt what it used to be. The was a song that was dedicated to"... all the girls I loved before". If I could remember the words I would re dedicate it to all the furry friends who I loved and was in turn loved.
Beaver was my 5th Cavie.... he just up and died after about 3 years.
Honey our 4th cavie. We got her for Beaver but she turned out to be too agressive for him. It was kinda cute the way she chased him around. We had her for about a month before something akin to kidney stones took her. Being a rescue she got a lot of pellets and in the end the ash got her.
Spaz was our 3rd. He was a fine young fellow who preferred to be alone. He was somekind of a long hair mix. We got him from a petshop as a rescue after he came back cause he had mites. We had him somewhat over 6 months and he just suddenly got weaker and weaker.
Wheeter and Wheeker came in a package. A friend of a friend found them walking on the beach. They couldnt care for them and a pair of totaly soiled cavies came to me... A pink eye'd while and a huge brown hog. They cleaned up so nicely and were never a problem. The Pnumonia got them one at a time. We raced them off to the animal ER and dispite the vet's best.... they passed. It mean seem as if they died at the same time but thats just the way it came out.
We also had a hammie called Sissy... who I named for my sister who died a few days after sissy the Hammie. Sissy of pnumonia and my sister of complication cardiac arrest and smoking... and the fact that it too over 10 mins to get her heart going... Learn cpr please.
Debby and I had a Hammy about 20 years ago. She was a huge Teddy Bear and we had her for a bit over 3 years. One day she started to act sick and back then and at least in the USA there were less options for treating hamsters. We gave her antibiotic but then one day she curled up in her nest and never woke up. I remember we were so afraid to touch her and just left her until we were pretty sure she had passed. But now I cant remember her name but I can remember just how much she meant to us.
I had a Rattie when I was a kid.... Most of you will know why I named him Ben. I was very young when he passed and im not really too sure how I felt. He was a sweet fella and I took good care of him.. but I always felt that I could have done more.
Had a small white mouse named Socrates. Got him from my sister when she got tired of him. Diddnt really have him very long... even taking into account the short life span of white mice , I always felt he died of a broken heart.
I wont list the other 100 or so furry friends that have come and departed my life.
