The Cavy Compendium forums are also down with a fault message. Its a good site with friendly, knowledgable members. I joined the same time as I joined GPW. I don't post much as I became a GPW mod shortly after.

Well. Did you hear the problem with IE (Internet Explorer) where people are posting a code int here website and it is getting all the passwords and every thing off there computer. If i was you i would use Firefox or Google Chrome like i do, there much safer. I am sure every thing will get sorted sooner or later!

WOW. There is something not right here! Unless they are all on the same host this is strange. Well good news is that if it is hackers targeting the forums then proboards cant be hacked so hopefully we will have here!

Sounds like a software or host problem to me. So widespread. I guess the disappearing forum posts was a forewarning for what was to come! I thought everything had calmed down.

Would it still affect different forums with different hosts ? When I enquired about the disappearing posts, I was told it was a database problem. Also that it may be a problem because the forums were part of a site. Cavy Compendium went down around the same time as we lost posts.

Well, they would need to be with the same host if it was a host problem. And all the forums are different software. So it is so difficult to tell. If posts were going missing then some one might of have access to phpmyadmin which was making them able to delete posts. Then the could of deleted the table on the MySQL databases which has made the forum go down.

Sue I told Paul, my I.T and Web Designer who mentioned to you and Alex on several occasions, that GPW just needed some updates that Paul could repair, and the current problem relates to the reason why GPW has crashed. P GPW starts running slower towards the end of the month and it becomes increasingly longer to log on. However, at the beginning of a new month the forum gets back to normal speed. Please tell Alex that Pauls offer to help is still there. If only Alex would accept a helping hand from his loyal members and allow us to donate money to keep the site update. We all love GPW((((((Alex))))))© 2008 Australian Calliope
