the other day when I switched my cooker on a great wave of fire came out of the first ring and welded my finger to the brass knob I was holding the pain was really bad even after holding my hand under the cold tap for an hour I then wrapped it in wet tea towels 4 to be prescie but nothing workind so I rang the out of hours nurses they came within 15mins and dressed it, of course they used the proper things for burns and the pain became more bearable, they came back the next morning to redress it and are coming back tomorrow, the cooker is relatively new but I'm going to get it checked anyway, at first I had what looked like a boxing glove on my left hand but now I just have my thumb and forefinger bandaged, it really hurt and hope never to have a repeat of all that pain my burns are full thickness and will take a while to heal/

That must be really, really painful, hope it continues to feel better and heal quickly. I scalded my hand over a steaming kettle years ago, silly me reached over the top of it to get the coffee jar. That took a while to heal.
